Eve Online Review December 2011
As any games journalist would probably tell you, a true and complete review of a Massively Multiplayer Online game is impossible. MMOs are vast, forever evolving entities with too much content for a single reviewer to produce a fair and accurate review. However, a collection of dedicated bloggers and EVE players (past and present) with a wide range of experience in various aspects of the game might be able to pull it off.
This special ‘End of Year’ Blog Banter edition aims to be a crowd-sourced game review. Using your gaming knowledge and experience, join the community in writing a fair and qualified review of EVE Online: Crucible. This can be presented in any manner of your choosing, but will ideally include some kind of scoring system.
With each Blog Banter participant reviewing the areas of EVE Online in which they specialise, the result should be a Metacritic-esque and accurate review by the people who know best.

Eve Online has now been around in one form or another since 2003. Since then it has gone through several actual expansions adding features including some technology refreshes in the Trinity expansion and backend changes in other expansions culminating in the most recent expansion entitled Crucible. read the rest of this post»

I think a lot of people agree the trailer is absolutely fantastic, featuring a welcome return to actual gameplay generated graphics that I always felt were and should be a major selling point of Eve Online.
Some talent other than video has to be recognised too, that of the people who produce the soundtrack which has a vital influence on whether a video is well received or not.
HaZaR (otherwise known as Arnar Helgi Aðalsteinsson) is the genius behind the thumping and deliciously decadent track entitled Gimmix which accompanies the Crucible Trailer for Eve Online.
Until just minutes ago, this track wasn't generally available. Who knows if it will take off outside the Eve Online community? Regardless, I'm betting there's a few people out there in the Eve Online community who would love to have this track though!
Like a lot of musicians, this artist set a really reasonable fee IMHO of $0.99 USD for their tracks allowing you to download Gimmix quite cheaply. I sprang a couple of quid for my download for no other reason than I felt I wanted to. You get over 5 minutes of the track and yes, it is ever so slightly different to the Crucible trailer version. Better in my opinion.
What's even more exciting news though is that you can preview the track before you purchase and also catch up with Hazar on Facebook if you wanted.
