So there we are, in our uncontrollable ships zooming off in all directions with a 12 minute delay between issuing a command and the ship responding... Expecations are mounting though, this battle is going to be epic!
Shrike is under attack, he's bubbled and he's near a gate. Wrecks fill the screen as the Doomsday Device culls pilots in the hundreds.
Pilots frantically try to re-enter the system, sometimes only to find themselves in a pod, others have even less control of their ships than before.
Those coalition pilots in small ships other than dictors are ordered to leave the system, we need to make room...
Word reaches us of a fleet of 50 or so capital pilots entering the system. This is it, this is the big one!
And then the unexplained Solar Event happens. Node crash. Shrike is now logged off. 
Pilots logging in now face gate camps that BoB have set up. Not really a surprise but a little lame imho. Suppose all is fair in love and war.
What a disappointing gaming experience. It could have been so much more. Destruction in 49- indeed.
