New New Eden
An alternate reality maybe?
This is a little tongue in cheek response to an allegation that certain CSM candidates (including me) lack any vision.
If you want more please let me know, it was fun.
BUT, my stance is not that important. I would rather know YOUR stance.
I already know about the majority of ingame issue facing players as detailed in my blog (and as most players already do incidentally) but I think what some miss is how important the various issues are to different player groups and that is one of the purposes of the CSM. To meet prior to talking to CCP, discuss issues in detail, come up with ideas and prioritise based on the results of that discussion.
It's all well and good stating that CSM candidates should know every issue facing players and to a large degree that is true. But then, why did CCP form the CSM in the first instance? Why not simply read the forums themselves?
It's because they wanted to give a gift to the player base. An additional social strata that any player can stand for, for the benefit of the game. To not just bow down to those who shout the loudest on the forums but to listen to the silent players who, finally, will have a voice via the CSM moderated forum. Where their issues will be heard too. It's all about being fair.
Anyway, please enjoy the New New Eden, it's just a story but includes some of the proposed sovereignty fixes CCP have suggested, some local chat vs constellation chat references, corporation structure enhancements and bounty hunter fixes.
None of these are set in concrete obviously. They are just ideas.
I just wanted to demonstrate that as a candidate I do have a handle on some issues players face and can come up with ideas as well as take on board players suggestions, then apply them to the game in order to discuss them and see how they work.

The New New Eden.
Talkuth Rel looked out from his office and gazed across the star field in view. The nearby star gate loomed like a huge monolith, swamping the view and making the ships next to it look akin to insects.
This was going to be an interesting day. Already the bounty alarm was alerting him that a tag was on his head and a hunter had picked up the contract.
Notification was given that CONCORD would no longer afford him any protection. CONCORD also notified his corporation that members could not protect him in combat unless they wanted their security ratings...er... reviewed. Reviewed extremely negatively. Talkuth Rel was now an outlaw for his crimes.
The comm beeped. It was his CEO wanting an update. Too bad that there was an operation scheduled later that day Talkuth Rel was due to take part in. The CEO didn't want him on it until the bounty hunter either killed Talkuth Rel or Talkuth Rel cleared the bounty himself by paying it or killing the hunter.
Already the corporation was fighting several fronts and could ill afford any interruptions. The corporation comm lines were buzzing about an impending invasion by an aggressive, competing corporation. It was rumored that two gates were already taken, a third targeted for attack and spy satellites at the constellation boundaries were reporting roughly 50 cruiser class vessels on the way. One more gate gone and the defense of the constellation would have to turn into a reclamation operation!
Constellation chat was devoid of chatter although plenty of pilots were logged in. Good. No conflicts just yet then.
Talkuth Rel turned the viewer off and sighed. This was it, he would need to just finish this.
Walking toward the docking platform, he took a detour through the public areas and met a fellow corpmate playing poker. It was a high stakes game with millions of isk riding on it. Too bad Talkuth Rel didn't have time.
His wrist comm beeped. A locater agent was alerting him that inquiries were being made about his location! The Bounty Hunter was on his way!
Undocking in his cruiser, Talkuth Rel set a course for Empire space. There were a few jumps needed to get there and some through low security space to boot. This was going to be tight but Talkuth Rel wanted to just clear the bounty and make amends with CONCORD by paying them off, the money sucking scumbags that they were.
As soon as he undocked alarms started to scream for his attention. That cruiser gang of 50 were now in the constellation and had been joined by approximately 20 support. His comm channel that was scanning for key words now flashed violently as they had been spotted close by just a few systems away.
Damn!
Hurriedly, he queried the location but the gang had lost contact. He got on the corp channel and stabbed at the fleet invite button.
His autopilot adjusted automatically as the fleet location was updated into his nav-panel. Crap. This would take him through a disputed area, to go around this would take too much time. Talk about running the gauntlet!
He jumped through the first gate and continued until on the fifth gate when suddenly the constellation chat erupted with activity! Too late, he was already jumping in!
His corporations sentry guns could be heard even as he started to materialise in front of a splinter of the reported fleet.
Three cruisers were in his path, wrecked and blocking the way, damn, the cloak was failing now and two Minmatar cruisers were bearing down on him even as they were being hit by the sentry guns.
Thinking fast, Talkuth Rel targeted the closest planet and hit warp praying to the Gods that his overheated alignment boosters would kick in in time.
His HUD showed that his shields were gone, armour was only at a sliver and already the armour repairer was overloading and about to blow.
The readout showed more dismal news as another 5 cruisers warped in and his hull started to bleed away. Luckily noone had him warp scrambled yet and his ship, almost a wreck, painfully climbed into warp and shot away.
Reaching the planet he immediately warped to the first safe point he'd created while he gathered his wits.
Now then, which planet had the cloaked orbiting repair facility? His corporation had placed one here...ah yes planet V.
Plotting a course to the corporation bookmark he breathed a sigh of relief as he entered the repair stations cloaking bubble.
More to come...maybe
