CSM08 - Why vote for Max Torps?

You know. That is a bloody good question.

I could fill a post with pompous, self righteous chest beating but meh, that's not my style.

I think what I'll do is take a look at what other candidates are saying in their blogs and answer the questions they pose from my perspective so you can compare apples with apples.

That's only fair isn't it?

Let's look at Hardin's blog. He's quite the wordy chap.

Why is Max Torps running?

I am running because I love this game and want to see it get better. Ok so far I agree with Hardin.

The issues that led... ah yes. Well, I do believe there were issues and the creation of this voice is all well and good. But. Heavy dose of realism here. CCP employees will always be playing Eve and in various corps and alliances. I think that needs to be said and needs to be remembered.

What I do believe in is fairness and transparency. I do not believe in witch hunts. However my job will not be to judge as others seem to think it involves. It's to be heard. So I will pass concerns to CCP as required by the playerbase, with vigour.

Why vote for Max Torps?

I think that most candidates think they'll be good CSM's. What we think is largely irrelevant. It's what you think that counts.

Looking at some peoples "speeches" about gameplay and what they do or don't do makes me think that it may all be a bit irrelevant to the task in hand.

I don't run a corp. I don't run an alliance. I don't know a lot of people I also don't think that matters.

I'm an up front, wear my heart on my sleeve type of guy and whether I run an alliance or not is moot. I play the game for fun and I'll be passionate about your concerns.

I do think I will do you proud, however it's what you think that counts and I won't forget that.

Max Torps has a real life job, can he spare the time?

Yes. I thought about this prior to applying as a candidate and can devote plenty of time to this.

Max Torps is in eXceed Alliance, does he really expect to get elected?

I'm not sure if my alliance team mates will vote for me, they have every right to vote for anyone they choose.

I am, however, standing to get elected. If I don't then that's fine. If I do, then I will be very pleased to work for you.

Is Max Torps standing because he wants a free trip to Iceland?

There is nothing free about going to Iceland, lol, after FF2007 I can attest to that! OK so air fare etc, yes that is paid but it's not my motivator as I have my own money.

My motivation is to have more involvement with the community and CCP.

Is Max Torps biased?

No. I think one of the main requirements of a CSM is to see the bigger picture and appreciate the wider playerbase.

I can do that. Those that only see things from their alliance point of view, while laudable within their alliance, are not suitable for CSM role. In my humble opinion of course.

But again, am I biased? No. Shoot me Hardin. Er don't!

Is Max Torps only standing for the prestige of the position?

Not really. I'm quite happy to sink into obscurity. After all, that's where I come from.

I really do think that I can bring a lot to the role and if you vote for me, you will see that.
