The Ultimate Game

It's frustrating isn't it?

You have a bunch of mates that you know and trust. You have played many games together and thoroughly enjoyed the honeymoon period of each one. You've known each other years and get on well.

Let's take a real example and choose LoTRO.

So there you are with your mates. All as cheery little hobbits prancing around the Shire killing goblins and orcs, er actually wolves and pigs and having a great old time.

You follow the quest lines and eventually start getting to the point where it's literally too much bother to do anything, slowly in game time but in as little as a few days in real time you all quit and drift back to your favourite games. This also happened while playing AoC...(enough said!)

My frustration with this? It's simple really. My all time favourite game and one that has captured my imagination like no other is Eve Online. Is it their favourite game? No.

One absolutely detests Eve and prefers SWG (gasp) and I've yet to get to the bottom of this, I suspect he was a victim of a Jita gank but he won't admit to anything.

One that I've given a 2 month game time code to so that he can play and level up for free... he's barely logged in as he's "too busy".

If you play Eve, I suspect you know what I mean when I say it ticks all the boxes.

It has PvP.
It has PvE.
Tradeskilling is great.
The community is fantastic.
It's shiny and colourful!
The devs are great (yes, really) I think they are absolutely awesome.
Gameplay is excellent.

I mean, what is there not to like?

Does anyone have any suggestions on a compelling argument I can make to these people who are great, but just don't play Eve?
