Last year at the end of October I was transfixed as I watched parts of the Eve Online Fanfest on a player run TV station called Eve TV. It made my mind boggle that since 1992 or thereabouts when ' tinternet were young and the only thing you could download was grainy poor quality porn things had come so far so quickly.
We've recently been going mad and adding a whole bunch of features to the site over the last day or two so I thought I'd take time out and explain some of them.
1: We've added ISK. What the heck is that? In Eve and in Iceland, it's a form of currency. We've adopted ISK as the name for our currency.
You can now earn ISK by posting messages, inviting friends to the site (get more when they accept!), creating groups (or fleets/clans etc) and other stuff around the site.
You can also transfer ISK from one member to another. read more »
20 million Isk (in game)
100 Isk (on site)
If you can correctly guess exactly what this is.

Please post your answers as a reply to this Blog within the next 14 days. The first correct answer wins. The judges decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into and no you can't have my stuff.
Good luck!

If you can guess what this is:

The prize is as stated above...quite cool for just identifying something you probably see quite often. No correspondence etc, judges decision final and so on. read more »

This is a test blog using email to post it and processing attached images to show. And you should see a pic unless I cocked up the dimensions... Cool, now you know you don't have to even visit the site to post a blog! Ideal for fanfests, meets and other such events. Great if your phone can send email.
Wow!
Just looks at this - 38,242 players online all at once on one server! I think that's a new record for Eve Online?
Reports of lag that night were not that loud as they have been in the past either so things are looking up... read more »
As I type the hamsters are idling and the GM's and Dev's are taking a step back, kinda....the server that runs on the huge supercomputer running Eve Online is going offline. read more »

Here we are, 14:30 GMT a good 16 hours or so after the deployment of the Trinity expansion for Eve Online.
I'm going to come across as a real fanboi to detractors and frankly I don't care.
I do appreciate that CCP really so love what they do and have created a fantastic game limited only by our imaginations.
I do think that CCP deserve hearty congratulations for an otherwise fantastic design, production and deployment of an expansion that gives the game so much.
I also think that a mistake is a mistake and that we all make them. Some have more consequences than others to be sure. But if you take a look at the Eve-o you'd think CCP had gone around murdering kittens. read more »
I've been playing Eve some time now and was lucky enough to join a corp in the ASCN alliance. Mainly as a tackler but also with ewar I was useful and had a laugh. read more »
Trinity introduced several changes and one was what is being called the Sensor Boost nerf. read more »
This link appeared a couple of days ago but only in the last 24 hours on the Eve-O forums.... http://www.usethepiat.com/dec20bobts.mp3
Have a listen to that...
Now then, there are a number of points of view you can take with this...if I've missed any feel free to post.
1: BoB are crying whaaaambulance at lag and are plotting the downfall of CCP...
2: Goons are impersonating BoB crying whaaambulance at lag and plotting the downfall of BoB and CCP.
Hey all.
This one is quite easy so many of you may actually get it. Or at least stand an excellent chance of getting it right.
So, it's first come first served!
The prize for this competition is 10 million ingame ISK and 100 ISK on this site which allows greater upload space and higher privileges.
Feel free to register on the site and post your answer. Don't forget to mention your ingame name so we can pay you. What is this a picture of?

1 Titan
3 Doomsday Device releases
850 pilots (approx)
1 Cataclysmic Solar Event
So there we are, in our uncontrollable ships zooming off in all directions with a 12 minute delay between issuing a command and the ship responding... Expecations are mounting though, this battle is going to be epic!
Shrike is under attack, he's bubbled and he's near a gate. Wrecks fill the screen as the Doomsday Device culls pilots in the hundreds.
Pilots frantically try to re-enter the system, sometimes only to find themselves in a pod, others have even less control of their ships than before.
An excellent and rather quirky guide to the life of piracy by Two Ghosts and Ridley Tree. Well worth a watch!
The dark side is beckoning...

There is also a gallery here - you can post your own screenshots up too!
It's been a few weeks in coming and still needs a little bit of work doing but it is working at last!
Previously, we had a version of a wysiwyg editor people could use on this site that prevented us using certain scripts to display images.
So today, we've reverted to BBCode which many forum warriors are familiar with and to be fair it's all that is really needed.
After all, we're catering to gamers who play EvE, so it's a mature audience in many terms. read more »
Hi
I've recently joined the group of people who run Eve using a Ram Drive in an effort to improve performance.
Probably the best way to improve performance though is to purchase a faster RAM, better CPU, Motherboard to match, faster accessing Hard drive and Graphics card. Currently, this is not an option for me so I'm tweaking what I have.
To get the most improvement in performance it is recommended to put the entire Eve folder onto Ram drive. However, as I only have 1.5 GB of RAM anyway, this is not an option given the size of the Eve folder and available RAM. If I had 4GB or you do, follow the instructions below and adjust accordingly such as adding the Program Files Eve folder as a Ram drive etc. read more »
I've been trawling through the server logs daily while bug fixing the site and been fascinated by some of the logs that show up.
It seems that either a string of infected machines are trying to find vulnerabilities with the server this site is housed on or a deliberate attempt is being made at finding these vulnerabilities.
An example log is here:

I've been working a little more on the site. It seems to pass the time while waiting for more skills to train...is that a good thing? lol
Anyway, we now have a few more colours splashed around the very gray site.
I've also improved the gallery, text is now readable. It may be a small improvement but damn important.
It's really quite a functional site now. read more »
